Accucraft 'Dora'

Does anyone have one of these? How does it perform? I am fancying one as the basis of a "Backertje" to go with the Henschel I am working on now. I mentioned the price to Valdemarsdottir(the wife) and she did not threaten instant death, or give me a long list of domestic projects needing funding.

Cheers,
Peter in AZ

I reckon you can't go wrong with them, excellent runners if a little excitable with lots of personality
A steam propelled life-style.

Yes, I do, Peter.

I've not unpacked it yet - too much Real Life going on at once - but when I do I shall Blog it some way or other.

There's an initial description and assessment in Steam In the Garden #129magazine, summarised as:
- up to pressure in 8 minutes
- runs for 10 minutes
- gas control tricky
- all metal means wear gloves for handling

Marc Horowitz is doing a series on mods, starting in the same issue with shortening the incredibly long throttle stalk.

Now you've had the Dora for some time, would you care to share your experience with it?

I remains high on the list of things I would like. I was supposed to get one in exchange for laser cutting work but it never materialised.
