There's something off about that loco, it seems to have a mis-match of bits like instead of an ip regulator it has a PPS regulator and the green doesn't match on the cab ectsteamie1:90856 wrote:There is a light green one on Ebay now. Don't forget Mamod Ltd's grey MK2 which is a cracker too..
Also I bought an engine off him once, got email a few minutes later saying that he had dropped it down a flight of stairs damaging it irreparably and refunded me.
Since then the same engine with the same pics has been back on eBay something like 7 times.
Really you would be better off just paying a little extra and getting the more refined version from Roy Wood

I could not find the eBay IP Jane you have been discussing last night, but that is because the listing was ended early by the seller.
It is my understanding, which David Hippey could confirm, that these flared and rivet detailed smokebox's were originally cast for the Brandbright Jane, which of course was made by IP Engineering before they then sold them direct.
The eBay IP Jane had several options fitted. A brass dome, the optional cab assembly (these were supplied painted by IP Eng, but un-painted by PPS & now RWM, which may explain the difference in colour shade), and a gas burner (not an option from IP Eng, but was from PPS). Fitting the gas burner meant the IP Eng regulator would foul the gas tank so I agree a longer shaft regulator has been fitted. However as I found out when I fitted a gas burner to my IP Jane the IP Eng & PPS regulators use a different thread on their shaft's so you would need to change the complete regulator housing (I extended my regulator shaft by splicing a piece of steel in and soldering it up with brass tubing).
It is also interesting to see how the pressure gauge has been fitted by using a banjo bolt fitting on the safety valve - the boiler fitted to this early version of the Jane did not have a removal plug on the top of the sight glass fitting like later versions.
