What do you think about AnDel Models kits ?

Thanks for advices. :D

You can view my rake of Andel rolling stock in this Topic - http://gardenrails.myfreeforum.org/about7363.html And if you use the Forum search facility you will find lots more from some of our members.

The chassis has been improved since my models were released so I would hope that the sideways play of the axles has been resolved. The new chassis also has better dummy brake gear which is easier to fit.

I built a flat wagon from there and it just fell together!

Excellence kits can't recommend them enough! :D

I'm sure his kits are lovely. Not to sure about his customer service though.

It seems that these kits are not equipped with full metal wheels.
And I only use these wheels for all my rolling stock like a real railroad.
That's a big problem for me...

Depending on the axle, axlebox and bearing size you can always buy some full metal wheels from an alternative manufacturer (IP and Brandbright spring to mind). You can replace the plastic ones with these. Be sure to check with Andel that they will fit first though. 8)

Excellent quality!

Very high level of detail.

A joy to build. They look good left bare resin or painted.

Ive sold most of mine to Chris other than my AnDel War Dept. stock.

Great kits. Great price.

I built a long open wagon 3 and half years ago as my first kit. It's been outside all that time, baking sun, snow, rain, the water in it froze and it always has a full load of shingle. It still runs just as well as when put together.
Swiftsixteen is well worth looking at and can be supplied with metal wheels.

I've seen a kit shatter when accidently dropped but this goes for any model whatever make or material, but its nice to hear of their worthiness and reliability. Andy is a leader in the resin market and I applause him how he has built up his business.

Gets my thumbs up and thorough approval - I had the pleasure of building a CM Brake Van. My only criticism is that the brake gear can be fiddly and super delicate. However the main van body and chassis were brilliant.

I constructed one of the C&M brake vans for my line. The bodywork went together well, but I had a bit of a naff time putting the roof on. I also had one axle supplied short, and had no response to my e-mails/messages. In the end I modified the axle box to take it, but it had terrible slop and the van rocked and rolled all over the place. It stayed like this for over a year, when the nylon wheels suddenly started going out of gauge. I cleaned them off, and tried superglue, loctite, and epoxy to hold them in place. Then one of the wheels shattered! In the end, I cut the axles out, and fitted a set of bandbright L&B wheels with their extended bearings. Runs beautifully now!

Here's a picture fresh on completion!

Sorry it seems that I can't upload pictures all of a sudden! How odd!

Edit: Seems to be working again now! How odd!
