The Stackton Tressel Light Rly. - Locomotive Stud.

Post by AFGadd » Wed May 16, 2012 8:27 pm

Hi,

I thought I might share with the forum the locos on the roster of the Stackton Tressel Lt Rly. (My Garden Railway)

The S.T.Lt.Rly. is still under construction but my loco collection is growing fast....

First is "ALBERTA" an early Roundhouse Jack Class.
This engine was purchased second hand from Simon Whenmouth, fully lined but a little tired.
She has since been to Rhos Helyg Locomotive Works http://www.rhoshelyg.me.uk where she has received a much needed overhaul.
Work at Rhos Helyg included - Bodywork, Paintwork & Chassis Timing etc.
Many thanks Tony, I've already got more work lined up for Rhos Helyg. I would thoroughly recommend his services.
Now back with us (and also fitted with a Chuffer) she is photographed on a stretch of the old trackbed.

Second is "CHRISTOPHER" 003 from the limited batch of 100, the 2010 Roundhouse Jack Class.
Again purchased second hand, I was so delighted with the Grey colour that I feel any form of lining would spoil it.
However, enhancements of my own include Nameplates & Blackened handrails etc.
I think the two locos make a wonderful contrast of the RH Jack Class.

More to follow....

Been working on an Accucraft Mortimer:

Added hole for DJH automatic drain cocks. (Will get the cocks at Peterborough)

Added a Gauge Glass to the backhead.

Repainted the whole loco in black (my first attempt at repainting, steep learning curve but I've started to get there...)

New buffer beams, these make a real difference to the loco.

Still much to be done, lots of painting still required - nuts & bolts, etc...
Want to pick up extra detailing at Peterborough if possible?

Another view of SIR FRANCIS with rods painted, steps fitted.
Just awaiting the fitting of the automatic cocks (now done).

Posted this on facebook but thought I'd post it here too...

Done a little bit of detail work on my Accucraft Edrig.
New regulator handle, gas valve handle, toolbox.
Also new buffer-beams.

Gauge Glass was fitted some months ago.
