Can anyone advise me what this is worth?

Post by benchmark » Wed Apr 24, 2013 11:31 pm

As the heading states, i will like some advice on what this is worth.
I have acquired this 2.5 gauge loco project that still needs the boiler and firebox but i am thinking of doing it in for something in the 16mm gauge range.

I made a video of it here,

Never forget it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it..
Try Ebay as the audiance is huge and being semi specialised you need to find the person who is prepared to pay..

with auctions you really need at least two people who are prepared to pay...

Looks a lovely piece of work. Without the boiler it will be worth a considerable amount less as more and more these days people only buy things that can allready run or only need a bit of work done to it. Boilers are very expensive and fewer people build them themselve nowadays due to the price of copper and all the regulations.

I agree that without a boiler it can not be worth too much but any ideas on an ' As it is' ball park estimate?

I think that is a high estimate. I would say around £300-£400 max.

dont forget the exchange difference, I dont know what you use in Denmark but £400 is a little more than $200 roughly
