First out was Matt with Whinlatter, which got in early whilst it was quiet

Exiting the tunnel

Next came IMRshaun and Francis who double headed with Rhoda and Corrie on a long train of IMR stock, some of it fresh out of the works

Soon the PTLR staff turned up, Simon had bought his Lyn for another visit

30762 at Greenhouse Junction, a rarely photographed place as the north facing wall only allows the growth of mind your own business, which despite its best efforts havn't hidden the wall yet

SLRmidge decided to re-create one feature of the opening day with his cattle train

The cattle train in the loop at Nant Llywyd

James meanwhile had turned up and hour late due to failings by Notwork Fail just outside York. Snowdon was soon steamed up, renamed Damien for the day....

Damien and the cattle

PTLRsam bought along the first loco he bought to a steamup here, the Archangel Sgt Murphey

Sgt Murphey on the straight beside the greenhouse which is now starting to become a useable photo location

The PTLR Christmas train, as seen at the start of the 2008 PTLR Santa Specials video

Passing trains with Whinlatter and Merlin

Finally, just before 15.00 I managed to get Gwydion out on the line with a recreation of the opening train

Gwydion at Afallen

After this full madness broke out as the Archangel New Mill on loan to the PTLR double headed with the Lynmouth and Barnical Bay's Locobox Garratt Hellvellyn

The weird pair on the headland

As the day drew to a close the garratt went solo
A big, big thank you to everyone who attended and made the day a great success. I should say James also bought along Britomart which finally decided to have a "good" day at an NWAG steamup and put in a very solid performance. Dolmur Goch was also bought along but after towing Damien effortlessly it then decided to sulk!
