I bought this secondhand a couple of weeks ago. I replaced some O rings and replaced the radio with a T5 system and it ran on rails today for the first time in 12 years. My first older loco and pleased to say it ran so smoothly.

Looks very Merlin like to me! I thought originally the Hunslet, but they don't have the same cab...

Laalratty knows his stuff, it is indeed an Auric.
Does anyone have any information on them, how many were made etc? this one was purchased in January 1997 from Kent Garden Railways. The log that came with it gives it less than 20 hours run time. Very pleased to have something a little older.

I looked at it and noticed the similarities to the Accy 0-4-0 chassis...

LOL!
I guessed it was a Pearce from the similarities with Accucraft and then you beat me to it, Doug.

It does look a little like a cross between a Carodoc and Ragleth, or rather they have been born from this loco.
I have a message from Ian Pearse and he thinks 25 of them were made, making it quite a rare beast.
