Does anyone have any experience of Timpdon Electronics?
Theres is the first R/C system I've fully understood as its simple, like me. I quite like the Fag Packet sized transmitter too, instead of a huge model aircraft type thingy... Nicely priced too.......is it any good?

Timpdon Electronics...
I converted our Baguley loco to Timpdon Radio Control last month.
The manual control switch (forward/stop/reverse) was under some form of step or lump on the buffer beam, and was not easy to get to to start and stop the loco and the ‘full speed or nothing’ did limit any attempt at controlled shunting. Also as the FBGR has developed with plantings and other scenery, it is not so easy to get at everywhere as it used to be.
The job of conversion was quite simple. Having removed the body from the Baguley I was able to sketch out the existing wiring diagram, and comparing this to the required arrangement (available to download from the Timpdon website) I was able to determine which wires could be retained/rerouted and where new wires were required.
There was plenty of room for all the bits under the bonnet, but I stood the Reciever up in the cab, to get it away from the other electronics.
The recharging socket on the buffer beam was retained, and this had me a bit confused at first as there were two return (black) wires and one live (red) wire. Upon investigation I found that the plug had a safety feature whereby the loco could not be operated while being charged.
I replaced the double pole centre-off switch with a simple on/off one, but had to drill an extra hole in the buffer beam to take the end of the locating lug so that I could mount this switch to operate up and down. For additional protection, I wired this this switch so that the up (off) position for power to the rest of the loco was ON for the charging point.
I mounted a small press button under the inside of the buffer beam for the ‘Transmitter Lock’.
In all it would probably been easier to wire up a loco from scratch rather that alter what had already been done.
On testing the loco was very controllable and worked well. I was able to operate it from the furthest point of the garden without a problem.
I am so please with it that I have ordered another set of parts from Timpdon for another loco.
