A friend of mine is interested in selling his Merlin Meteor and would like to know how much it is worth.

whatever a collector is prepared to pay, they tend to go between £500 and £800

Yes it is a Merlin Major, but it has fully reversible (and much less reliable) valve gear rather than the standard merlin valve gear which is not reversible, reversing being achieved through a mamod style regulator on the other models.

I think that makes it a Major Mk2, certainly not as successful as the original design, cheers Rob
