Has a review appeared anywhere of this engine?

I cannot help but think such a review has appeared in the Garden Rail magazine a couple of months ago.

I am now SERIOUSLY contemplating getting this engine as it will spur me on to build my garden railway. Oh, and the fact that I hear there are only two batches of 50 being produced

Could someone possibly scan it and then email it to me please? Or even PM it to me...

Quite funny really, I have that actual issue next to the computer at this moment (reading material whislt a video went on youtube) Basically the reviwer liked it but was concerned about a couple of matters like a stem pipe that had to be rebent so that it was not touching the front driven axel, the lubricater drain plug not being drilled right through and the screw holding the reversing link falling off on first steaming. I haven't got a scanner so I would hope that someone else on here might be able to send you the review

Hmm, just a couple of issues. Although those are easily sorted out.

My local model shop has one in at the moment, so if I get the chance I shall take a very close look at it ;)

I thought you were going to join the 16mmNGM for the insurance cover.

I've just scanned the review and will place it in the reference library.

You'll need to let me know what size of file you wish e-mailed. It has scanned as BMP files at 2550x3510 pixels and a file size of approx 25.6MB each. The JPEGs I'll post are 581x800 pixels and approx 500kb each.

Hi, sorry Chris, I've deleted the article from the refrence library because I hate to sound patronising, but it does state in the front of the magazine not to do such things. I just thought i'd make sure that we don't upset anyone, I hope this is ok with you?

OK, fair enough, although that argument could apply to the other scans of items that are still available.

I wanted to show Si what the JPEGS looked like because I think it will need to be a slightly larger size to print well, but I'm not going to be e-mailing 25MB files - would probably bounce back on my ISP.

As I suspected my e-mail has just stalled using Hotmail. I tried to send an e-mail to Si with copies of Page One of this review as JPEGs, 1 as height of 800 Pixels & size 479kb, and the other as height of 1600 pixels & size 1.73MB. Finally got it sent after several tries.

Anyone know a good & freeware program that would produce a PDF file for this review? I'm sure it would work out at a manageable size. I've attempted to do this in MS Word, but you end up with some huge file sizes.

I also like the Baldwin but i won't be getting one because one, they are way too expensive, and 2, last I heard, there are only a handful left, most of which are being sold by Brandbright.

Adobe Acrobat creates .pdf does it not. Chances are that you'll have it on your machine.

Nope. The full Adobe Acrobat is an expensive program, whilst we all have the free Adobe Reader (this reads PDFs only).

I've found a freeware PDF file maker, but not having too much luck reducing the file size so far. Lots of options for compressions, etc. so I'll just need to persevere. I've decided that the scanned JPEG at 1.73MBs would be best for printing out, so it may have to be 5 e-mails when Si replies.

Chris,

I am just checking my emails now and it seems to be filtering through at a good, steady rate ;)

I have also sent an email in reply :)
