Pete, I am in the process of making a wooden floor like yours and i am wondering how you weatherd it down to look that good.

The only things I used were:

- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scroll Saw
- Soldering Iron

Marked it out, cut it out, then just plank effect-ed it with the soldering iron tip, then the flat tip I have I just pushed over the top of it to just burn it a little. Job done.

And Tony, those cranks are still too much money for my liking!

Soldering iron? is that it?
My soldering iron is an old school one of my dads and don't think it has a fine enough tip but its worth having a go on some scrap

Mines got the changable tips, so I used a pointy one for the lines, then a big flat one for the weathering down. Works a treat!

Well I just have a big flat one. I could use a stanly knife for the lines and just weather down with the soldering iron. ill give it a try tomorrow. Fitted Lindas new plates today and i must say theres a massive improvement.
