Well yesterday i managed to fix the solebars and went on to fix the wheels, and in the evening, i HAD to try it out!

and it ran like a dream! if the mamod couplings were better it would have all been slightly better as it wouldn't have uncoupled all the time but i now have smaller chains, so hopefully, i should have a fully functional first EVER scratch build carridge for the D&FGR! :D

Some pictures taken yesterday to see what they all looked like behind Pheonix (which is bodyless!)

The cream has been painted on the doors on one side now

even though they are dwarfed by the carridge, they still look nice!

Yes i know i need to go over again in brown to cover up the bits of cream where it shouldn't be!

After a lack of work on the rolling stock recently, the managers have come to terms and have actually gone ahead with two things, one of them they recon will be the death of any more snowfall for a few years!:
1. The D&FGR is to have a 1st Class open carridge
2. A snowplough is being drawn up to be built to fit Edrig!
The first class carriage is almost finished, just need to go on the outside with brown to make it slightly more glossyer than the other standard opens! The snowplough should be started tonight, inbetween Phoenix's Plan B!

Well, finally the D&FGR have finally managed to properly outshop 2 carriages now! The Penrhyn Open (Now first class) and one of the laser cut ones (Now one of the 2 standards) and are now ready for the FR! Unfortunatly Phoenix could not join them, as the side tanks are still drying, but once they have done, i'll shove everything in the oven tonight or tomorrow morning and trail her out then!
anyway, here are the pics of the 2 carriages in the (very brief) sunlight!

The inside of the standard

and the inside of the First!, all the differences are, a painted floor, and more glossy paintwork!
and they'll still have to pay twice as much to ride in a carriage that i think has a flat all ready as well!
I'm quite pleased with the outcomes, and i need to tidy up the bits of cream on the standard, but other than that, they're finished!

Well there hasn't really been much going on on the rolling stock side for a while now, buuuuuuut you may have thought that i wouldn't get any more standard gauge rolling stock (i.e. the "replica" wagons) but I have got another one! to finish off the rake as it looks slightly out of place with just two wagons so three should do it methinks! will post pics soon!
