Repainting the Bertie

Post by mhlr » Mon May 03, 2010 11:48 pm

Decided my Bertie's paintwork was getting tatty, so I gave it a repaint... Turned out OK, not brilliant though. (notice a slight tone change 1/4 way down saddle tank, flippin' Humbrol pots not exactly the same and only noticed it after I took the pics!). I also removed those silly Micky Mouse handrails, hence the pop rivet in the hole the stantion was bolted to.

Looks nice fella, can't really see the shade difference from the pics. You need to tart up the red on the buffer beams though.. ;)

It looks like a nice loco, may have to get one.

Did spend a while thinking about it, but I like this one as it is.

Looks great, and the colour difference isn't obvious at all.

A fine brush, last time I tried my airbrush, it didn't work too well. Will have to practice on something less valuable at some point.

Very nice, and if you don't mind me asking where did you get that 16mm logo 'headboard' hung on lamp iron?

Tis indeed, I broke the pin on the back, so just turned it into that instead! And 1:1 scale ones exist too!

It isn't. But I only used it on the body work... If you use it on the boiler, that gets over 100 deg. C, so it's not really going to work...
