Superb, the axleboxes on the talyllyn coach are very nice with the underslung spring. Have you deliberatley marked up the bug box as unbraked with the white band on the vac stand?

These days it isn't just a band but is a much longer length of the stand. The Quarryman's coach is braked so no!

I don't know about this, so a white band means unbraked then, are all the bug boxes unbraked? I'm sort of modelling the FR in the sixties (to suit my Roundhouse Linda) but in a parallel universe so I can run whatever I like  was the white band thing going then?

Like I said later on it tends to be a fair amount of the stand that is painted these days. Some of the bug boxes are braked. I'm not sure whether it's just the ones running on origonal wooden underframes that are unbraked, I'd have to ask my dad. But yes, a white vaccum pipe stand is the sign of an unbraked, through piped vehicle. Don't know whether it was around in the 60s, look through the books is my suggestion.

I'm busy looking through the books, to think I'm a FR heritage group member and I'd never noticed the white bands  I suppose that comes under 'operating dept!
