I have no re painted Edrig with some matt black spray.   It gives a better look finish, but has its down sides.
Slightly peed about the cab, as the cream paint got under the mashing tape.
And notice how the cab front is angled,  thats because it almost snapped off

I shall try lining it with a ruling pen.

One was used to do this lining by a gmes member-

looks good to me :) , those different shades of matt black gives it lots of "depth" (is that the appropriate word? :? )

Much better, I certainly like the blower pipe. I'd just try running a white spirited rag around the edges of the cab sheet, might have to scratch a bit with your nail aswell.

That pen is interesting, I can't wait to see how you get on with it. I read the description and it talks about ink, presumably the GMES guy used paint?

I should have mentioned that i have touched up the white with some humbrol matt black.

I am not to sure about that. I shall have to ask him tomorrow.

Depends how your test bits go, I would have thought that unless you have an unexposed talent that painting lines would be hard enough let alone corners.

How come you've changed the bufferbeams back?

I changed them for STIA, i was hoping to run on titans layout, which has mamod points, and i doubt the deep beams will go over the point switches.
I jsut havnt got round to changing them back.
Also i miss having the dumb buffers. A flat front that big gets a bit boring.
I may make some beams the same depth, but champfered edges.

I have now added the handrails on top of the tanks. One knob needs moving slightly to straighten up.

I have also bought a new chimney from DJB, not sure if i will keep it on yet. But it was only a tenner, so no big loss.

Today i decided to be brave, and try my hand at lining with an Edding 780 paint marker-
I shall probably be adding a red line as well, when i can find a red pen. The shop only had white.

One side done-

Very nicely done, impresive that you've only used a marker pen.

I think its come out rather nice. But i cant help but think the white lining makes the black look a bit blue.

I see what you mean, a kind of midnight blue, looks very good like that IMO.
