You certainly have a perfect feel for making the right pictures at the right time! Wonderfull and full of ideas. Like the bridge with its scetchplates to keep the structure together and the telegraphpoles at the station.
On the dutch forum we discussed sounds a while ago, and one of the ideas (originated from the 009 forum) was to have a loop of bare wire inside a car with a weighted wire hanging inside of it, like a bell. When the weighted wire swings due to movement of the car, it eventually will hit the loop around it, and if you connect electricity to it, this can act like a switch, which triggers a sound, like that of a whishcard or mp3 player.
This way you can have the cows "moooing" at irregular intervals when the car is going across unlevel track..

Various things have kept me from the railway recently. Following complaints by users of the goods yard at Nayook regarding surface conditions, the yard was graded and re-surfaced with local gravel.

Loading the dozer back onto a trailer that only just fits, and the freshly surfaced yard.

A new goods gate has been built according to VR plans for a 15Ft. gate and painted.

I've always envied you guys with level crossing gates with the red roundel split in the middle. We didn't run to gates on the narrow gauge but I've always liked the VR gates which ranged up to 26Ft. with double rails top and bottom they were a large affair.

Loving that detail on the gate and the vehicles, excellent. That grass on the track looks just right, gives a nice backwater feel.

As usual Grant, I had to do a double take to convince myself this wasn't a 'real' picture. Rik is right about your effective positioning of things, it does make the shots absolutely convincing.

Those gates are monsters, aren't they? High quality design indeed, I can't imagine they ever sagged!

That gate definitely looks the biz, Grant. Well done.
However, dunno about your inhabitants, but round here nobody would bother opening it, they'd just go through that gap on the LH side ( nearest camera)!

Funny you should say that Philip, Graham (GTB) and I were talking about the gates the other night, and mentioned how rare it was to see one actually closed. I remember as a kid the one at Ringwood where I grew up being closed once, but I know they must have spent at least a day clearing the grass and blackberries from it to allow it to move.
