I have this lovely loco on my bench at the moment. It's the ultimate beginners live steam G Scale loco with safety features for the novice.

The gas valve and regulator have mechanical stops set. I haven't found these a hindrance at all.

The smokebox contains a condensate trap to catch start-up water and gunk rather than it go up the funnel and into your face. In operation the water evaporates off during the run.

This loco has huge cylinders and is an easy hauler with its small driving wheels.

Stunning!

It seems that we have a very limited choice nowadays when it comes to manufacturers of live steam locos; Roundhouse or Accucraft. It's sad that so many have gone, or moved on to other things.

(OK, ok I know there's Mamod and MSS and Roy Wood as well.)

Do you who made the Goodall valve as I could do with one?

The stops on the regulator and gas valves can causes problems for some people, the safety valve can leak but can easily be replaced and if you want a little more performance swapping the condenser for a chuff pipe is a help.

I made the filler valve myself.

A fine all LGB train, lined up and ready to go...

This is my special truck to couple to Frank S. It's got a hook added on the front, LGB trucks normally have these on the rear.

YouTube nicely removed all my camera shake. The train has just picked up a works train along the route...

Here we are slipping down the return curve and into The Yards
