Talyllyn slate wagon loads

Looking at perfect worlds Talyllyn slate wagons, does anyone know of a supplier for loads for these wagons, probably resin or simular?

I use doll´s house-type roofing slates, but there might be a resin version out there.

i take it you mean the 1/12th scale ones, do you have to trim them to size?

They´re smaller than you think. And they´re double the size of 1:24, so less work

Years ago a mate of mine made a load for 7mm scale slate wagons.
He built a master from slate sized bits of plasticard and then used that to make a mould in latex which he then filled with plaster of paris. Once the mould was half filled he pushed offcuts of polystyrene into the plaster to try and keep the weight down.

It was quite a long winded way of doing it but the results were very good. You also have the benefit that once the mould is done you can make as many as you like (to sell on possibly?)

I think in 16mm scale you would have to chamfer the edges of the individual slates to make it more realistic. If I were doing it I would use a resin rather than plaster.

Trenarren models might do something suitable, they certainly do slate stacks, but I've a feeling that they did a load for a wagon, and that it was for the Perfect World Talyllyn slate wagons (remembering of course that Perfect World used to make the scenics range that is now sold by Trenarren).
