I once met a bloke who went to school on the Romney Marsh. He was horribly bullied until one day he snapped - and threw one of his tormentors right out of the RH&DR train that was taking them to school. Strangely enough the bullying stopped after that...
That´s why I´ve chosed the armoured Simplex. That should keep out the gels. Now all I need is to glue the nameplates on, once it back arrives here after lining out.

It´s been a slightly costly day, as I´ve had to junk the old camera and trade it in for a new one. But here are some pics, as promised, of the K&NWLR (Portmeirion Branch) after some more locos got back from lining out. And see below for the notes on the Simplex WWI loco, which has been adjusted for reasons which become clear.
Apologies to the traditionalists out there, but I decided to go for a Tin Turtle that had been taken into care and used for running St Trinians school specials. Check out the name plates.

Love the idea of having to use a tin turtle on a school train, now it just needs a driver or guard that looks like the demon headmaster...!

Now that´s an idea. If I can only get hold of R. Bennett ....

Another pic from the K&NWLR, as the sun sets o´er the harbour branch, the rush hour traffic backs up, and girls from St Trinians wait for the Old Black Pig pub to open.

Does this photo help to corroborate the rumour that some K&NWLR loco crews have their sights on St Trinians 6th formers?

Well, I can´t see any railway staff in the pic, but that´s probably because they´re lining up inside the courtyard of the Black Pig, waiting for opening time. Strangely, they can´t be seen in this pic of the Black Pig either. But as there´s no driver in the cab, the only explanation is that he´s waiting for the pub to open here.

Some more pics from today on the K&NWLR trying to show some of the Welsh side as well, without making the unfinished bits (of which there are many) too obvious
The gals from St Trinians have been photobombing some of the shots, and for some reason, a panda has been adopted by the signalman. Oh, and the St Trinians gals have organised a vertically boilered skool trip somewhere.
Once again, the Black Pig pub contributes to the lack of staff visible on the line.

A quick glance of what´s to come on the K&NWLR, re-posted by me onto my Facebook page from Matt Acton´s Berry Hill Works.
Little hint: It´s got funnels at both ends and the cab in the middle ...

Let´s imagine that one hundred years ago, Decauville in France, as the NG market collapsed after WW1, decided to get a share of the Welsh slate quarry locomotive orders. And that the demanding weather conditions forced Decauville to offer their 3t in a closed-cab version. Here´s a "might have been" built by HDC-Dampf in Germany, painted and lined out and revived by Matt (and helpers) at Berry Hill Works. Coming soon to the K&NWLR ....

An almost identical twin, separated at birth. And currently in a brick works in Greece. I had no idea.

Time I think for a pic or two of something that arrived yesterday in the post.
This is a new build Stewart Browne of Archangel fame 32mm Double Fairlie, lined out by Matt Acton. Glad that it arrived safely.

Got to say that it looks excellent (although Matt's lining jobs always are). Look forward to seeing pics of it pulling trains.

Open air testing of the K&NWLR´s new-ish Regner Rigi No 7 at Münsingen, near Bern in Switzerland at 20th Anniversary Steam Up.
This rack railway had been brought in from Germany, on which the K&NWLR´s Rigi No. 7 had running rights, after being kitted out for R/C by Dampfatelier in Zwingen. No prizes for guessing where the R/C is, but the servos are miniature, and don´t spoil the view. And there were a surprising number of other locos to see, many of which actually made it up the slope :o

Fantastic idea - rack railway portable layout. Lovely scenic details too. Do model rack railway locos have parking breaks to stop them from rolling back down?

The railway which people forgot
