IP Rapier modifications

Post by JMORG » Fri Jul 18, 2014 3:38 pm

Hi all,
I've been looking at the IP Rapier and been wondering, can I modify it?
I'm looking at the Ffestiniog Railway Hunslet Diesel Harold:

Has anybody tried anything like this before? :)

Doesn't look too difficult really, make a new cab and possibly lower the hight of the bonnet. However there is the problem of where to put the batteries and also I can't remember how high up the motor is on mine and as the bonnet's glued on I can't easily measure it sadly.

In that case, measure it joyfully! Seriously though folks, this little loco is so cheap that it's worth buying one to experiment with. DO make it two axle dive - Motionco http://www.motionco.co.uk/ will supply thr bits more cheaply than Ivan will..........
