Sorry folks but I've got my begging bowl out again!
The forum host ( Zume) annual renewal is due at the beginning of September. We don't yet know how much it will be but last year it was £240.00 for the year and these things never go down of course, so I'm expecting some sort of increase for the next year.
We currently have £260.33 in the bank, so depending on the actual figure they will want, we quite possibly won't have enough to pay it.
For general info, the move to Zume from 123Hosts/GoDaddy was, from the admin point of view, the best thing we ever did. We haven't actually needed to contact them very much over the past 12 months but when we do they are quick to respond and so pleasant and helpful to deal with and queries are resolved within hours if not minutes.
So, please can I ask you all to put your hands in your pockets and make a contribution, however small? Payments should be made via Paypal and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, ensure that you make it as " gift to Friends and Family" and NOT as a 'payment', otherwise Paypal will make a sizeable deduction ( 4% + £2.99 ) because their system thinks it is a commercial payment. Payments should simply be made to " paypal@gardenrails.org " but if you need help there is a "Donations" link on the forum header with detailed instructions.
Please also ensure that you put your forum screen name on it because I have no idea in most cases that, "Fred Smith" is the real name of "Go_Faster _Trains" , or whatever, and I always try to acknowledge each donation.

Guys and Girls,
Sorry to nag but we really could do with more response to this topic otherwise we'll be forced to conclude that there is no interest in, and no future for, Garden Railway Forum.
To those half a dozen members who have responded, a big thank you again.
I would just point out to the remaining 1169 members who have not so far contributed, that if you all sent in just a measly 50 pence, that would keep us going for at least another couple of years
