It tells you online that glues don't stick to this material, neither apparently does Cataloy. I pinned the plastic down yesterday, using relatively few panel pins. This afternoon the platform surface curved up in several places along the length so I have added more pins. Fingers crossed.

On a more positive note:-

some rivet heads applied to the end of the van I am building using the cocktail stick method. Many thanks for the tip, it really does make it easier.

Here is the new milk van out for daylight photographs. The camera is cruel and reveals I should have painted the roof edges dark grey. The numeral '4' was very fiddly to cut from the plywood fret without breaking .

Not that strange or different over here, Aaron. Many of the Great Western Railway ventilated van diagrams used those hoods.

It's ages since I posted. The weather has mostly not been dry enough to do much outdoors though a running session for friends was held in mid November.

A Boxing Day visit was made to Pembrokeshire, with grateful thanks to Dinah and Trevor for the invitation, and some trains were run on a well known railway there:-
Whilst there I was very pleased to receive gifts! One being a station building for my layout, specially made for me by David John (who can be seen in the centre of the layout in the first photo) to fit the rather narrow platform, which I was delighted to receive. Today being the first non-windy and so far dry day since then a brief running session was held to photograph the station in situ with a train in attendance:-

Great to see your line with some great friends. very nice smooth slow running of your rake of coaches and that little milk van looks perfect with them also.

Hopefully we can get out and do some more on our line soon, really far to wet and the grass is a bit long also to go and trample it down..Ann wouldn't be too happy either..

I hope you are fully back to health in 2024 and travelling about again. You and Ann will be very welcome to visit when you can get to West Wales.

Like your garden mine is too wet to do anything, the grass is very slippery in places and tends to get damaged by walking on it. The picture shows the last proper running session for 2023, I just had to get Trevor to see what he had helped me plan out before the end of the year!

Will you be going to the Stoneleigh show? That might be the next sensible opportunity to meet.

On a frosty morning I wanted to try out my other Christmas present - a Ffestiniog sheep wagon 3D printed by Trevor - in a train with two other wagons new to the railway. They have an assortment of couplings, hook and loop on the outer two. I fitted three links to the front of the GVT wagon. It seems to work. Most of my stock has Binnie style couplings which would have looked wrong on these wagons. The sheep are yet to be installed, painting is occurring.
At first the loco was unable to move the train because of ice on the line
After a while the sun got round to the layout sufficiently to soften the ice and after a couple of circuits the loco pulled the train without slipping.

I am sorry we won't be going to that show I'am afraid. But we will be visiting Peter early late August, early September, so maybe we could come along with Peter after our visit with him

Hi Phil,

It maybe around that time, I'm not too sure, but it won't stop us visiting people and meeting up again.

During the week Trevor came to visit and brought some stock. I wanted to try some bogey coaches round the layout to check they would run. They did!

The other visitor seen is Mollie.
