RWLR is a new build line in east yorkshire. ive been interested in 16mm since the middle of last yeard and started my own line in january this year. it all started with a mamod which is seen in the pictures. soon the fleet was doubled and trippled with 2 HGLW electrics. these will be pictured soon. i also have a ip engineering simplex caravan which was the first white metal kit i built and completed only last week. i soon found a few 16mm friends with lines one of which brought his Dewinton and pud around for a run last sunday. im now a memebr of the local 16mm group so along with pictures of my line there maybe pictures of visits to other lines at times too.

Looks like a great start. Already looking natural in places. You have steam working really quickly, which is always encouraging. I hope you will continue to tell the story here as your line develops.

thank you for your kind comments. since these pictures were taken me and my other half have added woodchips in the middle of the oval of track and also around the outside to make the line abit more weather friendly. I'm still unsure with what i"ll be doing regaurding ballast. A station building has also been started on which will hopefully be finished in the next few weeks.

It's certainly getting there. I've only modeled in n gauge before this so it's a bit new to me but I'm learning quick

It's all a bit big for you, but at least if you drop a bit:

(a) you can see it and
(b) you can pick it up again!

i agree with you there brian. the amount of times ive dropped something off the n gauge and lost it is unbelievable. heres a few more pictures from the lines progress so far. the newest pictures being the ones with the wood chip around the line. the ones featuring the mamod with great steam trails were at 6 50am in pretty cold conditions. hope you like them

today has seen the arrival of a faller railcar which will be used to run stopping passenger services between faster frieghts and non stop passenger workings. the pictures show it in its current state but there will be a few changes over the next few nights with minor detsils painted. the roof will be the major and most obvious change when its painted either black or grey.

todays running included the mamod out in its new colours with matching stock. 4 hours were spent in the garden which gave ample time to test the meths burner fitted to the mamod to its maximum. all was well. 2 HGLW electrics were also seen running along with the ip engineering caravan. hope you enjoy the pictures.

Is the cable drum a kit or scratch built?

its a manor models kit they do a fair few bits that are decent for a railway

a day trip to peterborough as you do involved me getting the following for the line;
4x binnie skips
-steam oil
-ip enginnering groudle glen loco and coach
-probably the only packet of tenmille track joiners at the show
-x2 water top up valves for mamod and uprated safety valves
-coal basket for mamod
- grass roller
- coal sacks
and saving the best till last a brand new mamod saddle tank.
