The Sorton Bank Railway, just south of Lancaster, held a bank holiday steam up on the 25th. Below are some of the pictures I took.

It was nice to meet everybody on Monday, and thanks to Arthur for allowing me to attend - I have since visited the Ingleton mountain Railway, and Ed's railway (which I don't know the name of!:oops:)

Lovely railway in beautiful setting. Something needs to be done about the rodent infestation though!

Lovely photos, thank you. Judging by the size of the pressure gauge I'm guessing St Valery's crew have fairly significant eyesight problems!

I'll ask the rat's owner if he is going next time I see him, and try to persuade him to take it if he is. Wouldn't it be nice for the Mid Derbyshire rat and the North Western rat to meet (note though that Francis' rat goes at quite a sedate pace, being on a HGLW chassis) The rat body is demountable, and the chassis actually has a loco body for when the owner wants to be a bit more serious!

The Matador (although PTLRsam thinks that there is even more to this loco then meets the eye) brings the L&B set out of Wyre Bay.

PTLRcecil's latest loco, the Merlin Major Sir Robert. Now fully lined out, and looking very nice.

From the Stanwix Light Railway came Lady Yvonne.

Matt's own Lady Anne.

Former Mogok Ruby Mines Railway number 13, now owned by one of the NWAG's newer members. A lovely loco which looks well and runs nicely.

Another new member bought along this Argyll, won at the 16mm Association prize draw in 1996. It is named The Lucky Rat.

The ANLR representative was Urien, with 4 coaches.

SLRmidge's Guillimot, on the return loop level crossing.

PTLRcecil's double header, Morgana leading Sir Robert, both lined out in the same style and matching each other very well.

Thanks to Arthur at the SBR for a great afternoon, and good to meet BaBBLR, hope to see you again soon, perhaps with a loco.

Ace shots there - looks like a lot of fun was had. I do like the look of that magok ruby loco - the ex excelsior one.

Really great pictures guys of an obviously really great railway.

I love the opportunity this forum gives to 'visit' so many railways. I wonder if it would be a big hassle to post a layout of a line too when posting photos. Sometimes it's nice to see how best use has been made of a particular aspect or location or to see how the various shots 'fit together' to make a complete picture.
