Yesterday SLR midge held the summer steamup at his Silverdale Light Railway (North) in baking summer weather. The good weather ensured a high turnout and there were trains running most of the afternoon. Meanwhile the PTLR staff organised a side event that is worthy of its own topic..... Here are the pics
Simon's (PTLRcecil) single Fairlie Guenevere crosses the Heversham viaduct
PTLR sam meanwhile had bought one of the lesser seen pieces of PTLR motive power, the Beck Anna
There was a time when virtually every NWAG steamup featured an Accucraft Baguley, but new purchases mean they are seen less often nowadays. Reviving old glories, Simon's Stan Laurel leads my Caeronwy Castle
The pair where then joined by Midge's Blackbird
Arthur's Katie brings a short train past Eaves Wood
With a longer train approaching Waterslack
IMR Tom Rolt at the top end of the circuit
Tom Rolt passes Eaves Wood
ANLR steam power was again provided by Russell, celebrating one year under my ownership
Russell at the barrow crossing
Russell passes through Waterslack
Whinlatter barks over the top of the bank
A very rare sight, one of PTLR sam's mamods! It was in steam too, well at least until the gauge glass blew!
Russell and Guenevere double head the last train of the day
Many thanks to SLR midge for a great afternoon and once again providing too much nice food!

"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."
