IP Jessica kit build
I have yet to fit it permanently but as I have it at the moment it's stuck with double sided tape on the cab front above the battery so the sound travels down the length of the bonnet and out the grill sort of Bose like I used the small mini speaker that is recommended by Chuffed2bits the speaker that is part of the sound kit is a bit to large and the little one is less than £4. As for the sound set up I have yet to fine tune it but I am having difficulty as the transmitter takes a few seconds to Bind with the receiver and their is only a two second time gap to press the set up button on the sound card before it resets , this passes before the binding takes place so it's not that easy to get into set up mode , I will try putting a connector in the wire to the sound unit and plug it in after turning on the R/Cset and see if that gets into set up mode. I had the same problem with the speed controller set up.

I have at the moment got the sound controller in the cab against the front panel I was thinking of leaving it their and building a dash board over the top so it won't show. My speed controller is the water proof 2.4MHz M.troniks mini loco about an inch square it's stuck on the under side of the chassis with double sided tape so I only have the battery and a load of wiring and mini speaker under the bonnet.

Thanks for the update Allen.
I have one of the IP Eng Instrument Panel kits fitted in the cab but that was made up with a wooden frame to support it which was glued to the cab floor so probably not easy to remove now.
I rarely use my IP Jessie, but the recent Topics regarding Radio Control & batteries prompted me to give it a run yesterday. Nice to know what can be done with these locos. I still have a Cambrian Models loco brake standard to paint up and fit into the cab of my Jessie at some point.
Chris Cairns.

This is ware the speaker will end up. Also I have changed the wiring and found some of the faults I had with sound and ESC set up, flat battery wasn't helping.

I have now fitted most of the detail parts horn, handrails ect. still to fit the sand boxes and a few other pieces. I have screwed on the body panels and tidied up the wiring. I have also put counter sunk screws on the roof so you can't see the horrible screw heads that the standard loco has, and have fitted the directional lights.

Thanks for the nice comments, it's certainly been an education making this kit up I had to learn all about fitting and setting up radio control and using LED's and fitting and setting up the sound system, I have found that it's not that bad to do so have a go if you are thinking about it, it's very satisfying. I hope to get to a local track meeting as soon as possible all the ones so far this year have clashed with other events. My own track laying has been on hold until my poor old body gets a bit better to many years falling of motor bikes my knees are not the best for kneeling down but are getting better in this warm weather, so I hope to have my track done this summer.

Just about finished now. I have added the sand boxes, new home made hand rail and step combination and the rest of the I.P. Engineering detail kit just need to touch up paint work hear and their and make a panel for the cab to hide the sound card unit and add a driver.

Beautiful model you've made there! You should be proud
If it can be made full scale it can be made 16mm

Yes Brian it's on hire at great expense from B.R. along with the Matra crane and will be be very handy for the C.R.L.R. engineering and P.way departments.
The Swift sixteen bogies make a good 45 to 32mm conversion.
