A few pics of the civil works as they progress. I'm going for a small oval to start with and will extend it if it all seems to go well. I've laid a course of 2 bricks on a concrete foundation, still more to do to complete the circuit.

I've got some lengths of Brandbright (I think) track that will go on top of the bricks, fixed with brass screws.







Final pic and a question, can anyone identify the tipper wagon? its a plastic kit my dad built about 20 years ago but I don't know the supplier and I'd like some more.

The tipper wagon was made by a company called Kestrel. They ceased production many years ago.

Thanks Tony, I seem to remember the name Kestrel from smaller scale stuff.

I'll just have to get some other manufacturers tippers.

OK, a bit more progress on the civils and some track laid!!



Dad's also found some more gems on his shed, I think this is the last of what's left, a couple of scratchbuilt wagons my brother and I built when we were teenagers, about 25 years ago!







I thought they looked a bit 'big' when compared to the tipper wagon but they measure about 100-110mm wide so I think they'll be OK.

We picked up some old plastic Triang chassis cheap and chopped them up! There's still half a dozen more left.

Looks perfectly fine to me. A very good idea to cut them on the angle....
