Does anyone know what liveries these vans were in? I have seen one in red oxide, but I was never sure if this was correct...
If anyone can provide any pictures it would be very helpful! :)
Cheers

Cheers for clarifying!
Do you also know if they had lettering? I cannot find any good pictures of the wagons.

More lettering than you can point a stick at, in later years anyway....

A book on DHR wagons is listed on the Camden website and the preview displays the colour photo on the front cover and some b/w photos inside that show the lettering. At 7 quid it would seem to be worth it just for the photos.

Don't forget the diagonal black and yellow stripes painted on the grounded bogie vans at Siliguri.

I have (I think) and I'm trying to remember where I've seen it - it was a B&W picture and not in the usual places!

Here is some home movies that indicate they were red oxide in the 1940's.
Go to movie 2, colour starts about halfway through, then you just need to be patient. Not many movies for Darj freight workings.

That's fascinating! The red oxide on DHR goods wagons gave them a distinctive vintage look. Seeing them in old colour film must be a rare and nostalgic experience for any rail enthusiast.
