Since we were running so late thanks to the heavy rain that delayed Virginia's flight from landing, we got your message in time to head over to Great Central instead for the afternoon.

Miss you guys though!

Dude....I was half sure I saw you [having seen photos on this forum]. Didn't want to say anything as it'd have been a bit weird, plus if it wasn't you it would have been well dim.

We got off the train that became the 1600 from Loughborough. I was wearing my trademark black longcoat.

It's been a while since this was updated, and just when you thought it had been forgotten about

Butterley has become rather overgrown on some parts since my last visit!

Image

So after the crews became lost in the jungle they retreated to the upper level

Image

And ran a dual gauge train!

Narrow Minded was also there with Myfanwy!

Britomart also had it's first outing since the BR Arrows were added!

Nice to see the hated Snowdon getting some fresh air. What an awful engine it must be. You really should get rid of it.

I'll tell you what- I'll take it if no-one else will. I can't stand to see someone so unhappy with an engine. If only you had known what garbage was being turned out in Doncaster, you could have saved yourself 1400 pounds and been able to buy what- at least eight wonderful Mamods instead!

There's actually a prototype for dual-gauge trains - they do it at Statfold! I've got pictures of the East Midlands Group meeting at Fiskerton to upload - tomorrow!

It just amuses me how your Lady Anne is always being "declared a failure" or some such thing. You pretend to hate it, obviously for humorous reasons, but I don't really get the joke.

On another note, I like the insignia on your blue Mamod. I liked it better with the cab back on though. It always looks like the crew fell out and now it's running away without them.

I declare a loco a failure if it can't move under it's own power or can't run on the mainline after doing so, and well, it couldn't as the batteries were dying and begun to hold up other trains on the line so I took it off. I've never pretended to hate the loco, I've found it a pain yes, but I don't hate any of my locos, if I did I would have gotten rid of them ages ago. However if I had the choice at the moment I would be running my Edrig, however I doubt it'll run very well with a missing saftey valve....

The cab back on Britomart needs work on it to fit properly, but with it in place I have to remove it all the time to re-fuel with meths, and when your doing that every 5 or so minutes then it does get in the way a lot. I do have some brass sheet which I'm planning on making into a new rear cabsheet, however like most things at the moment I struggle to find time to even look at the locos at home, let alone do any work on them

Myself, Doug and A friend who should be joining the forum shortly... All visited Butterley today for a steam up! It was my Caradoc's second visit anywhere and also its second run and "Ofario's" first run in its newest guise! Which I didn't get any pics of... But I think Doug has some!
