Christmas on the Afonglas and Nant Llywyd

Today was my annual Christmas steamup (and also 4th anniversary of the opening of the ANLR) and it was a bit of a strange day, as no home steam locos appeared and PTLRcecil's King Arthur didn't go down in a blaze of glory, more like a massive wimper as the gas valve on the tank failed and refused to admit any gas. Meanwhile, 90733 came all the way from Keighly only to have his loco fail with a lack of steam (although I think the consolation prize of driving Mr T of the Coniston Railway's Linda was quite some consolation!) Anyway, here are some pics

Duncan from the Ingleton Mountain Railway hauling a very nice scratchbuilt slate train

Willi from the SLR (south) had charge of the ANLR Permanant Way train

Verticles on shed, and if you are wondering who own's the second Willi, then lets just say that SLRmidge is happy to have a willi out again...

Even the ever reliable (I know! Unbelieveable!) Merlin from the Little Morecambe Steam Railway wasn't performing at its usual standard

The other loco from the Coniston Railway was the Paul Millignton Blanche

Argyll from the Fairfield Railway waits at Afallen for a down train

Passing trains with Argyll and Exe from the PTLR

Bungle also made his traditional Christmas visit, and Cumberland performed as well as ever

PTLRcecil was left with Starbuck the Slater's Chaloner, and even this ran out of battery!

Finally, Curlew brings a cattle train past Ty Pren
