Pics from yesterday´s Boxing Day running session with a Peter Angus Single Fairlie and a new-ish Mamod "Brunel", picked up at Llanfair this year Since I don´t use flash, some of the trains seem to be making a quick get away, due to the long exposure times.

Yesterday´s session was composed of an attempt to get the enclosed cab Decauville 3t. I used almost all the gas on the first run just trying to get the burner lit (without setting fire to the rest of the line).

A few pics from yesterday´s session, which was for the benefit of a visiting neighbour. Luckily the Double Fairlie behaved impeccably. Photos are courtesy of young Miss K&NWLR, which is probably why we have a baby elephant next to the signal box.

The K&NWLR as dusk falls, the time when unexpected visitors arrive on or near the K&NWLR.

A quick and wobbly phone video, which also gives a glimpse of the Kent end of the line.

Hunslet day on the K&NWLR. A new Large Quarry Hunslet arrives in Penrhyn livery on the line.

These two locos are made by Finescale. Hope this helps.

Too small for R/C, I would think, and Finescale delivered their last batch of Hunslets some time ago. This one was second-hand.

Had a few questions a while back about how all these little bits of the K&NWLR fit together, so I´ll post some pics which show an overall view. It´s not pretty, and there are things that need a lot of work, but it may help to get a better feel for what it looks like.

North Wales side first, with Kent to follow in the next post.

And now the same for the Kent side of the line.

Work bench is a big word for the first piece of furniture I bought when I moved to Switzerland in 1985. It was then called a "desk / dining room table / workbench".

I've just read through this thread from top to bottom. Others have said it along the way, but it bears repetition -- this is totally amazing! The high standard of construction, the vision and composition of the scenes and the sheer scale of it all. I moved outside and started digging to get a railway with a feeling of being substantial, this achieves all of that and more -- and inside too!
