Garratt Sunday - 2007

Here's a busy moment at Garratt Sunday - 2007.

Mick Brown (on the right) keeps a watchfull eye on his red, John Brittain built, coal fired, NGG16 Garratt as John Sowerby's black, gas fired, NGG16 storms past.
In the yard, 'South Arbury Conquerer' & another NGG16 (both from the John Brittain stable) await their next turn of duty.

The gentleman in the centre of the photo (with mug in hand!) is the ledgendary Eddie Bull who has won prizes at the National Garden Railway Show for his amazing buildings, one of which is the coal tower that resides on 'Ttarrag Shed'.
Eddie has also built the 'Mamod' Garratt which frequently runs on 'Ttarrag Shed'.

Are Locobox afrikarn's allowed cos me and my dad thought about bringing ours but we told by all acounts that they were not allowed.

The moral of the story here is, don't listen to 'all acounts'!

Any type of loco, made by anyone is welcome at the South Arbury Railway on any of the open days that are held.

Bob Kirchner is a regular runner at South Arbury & often runs his 'Afrikarn'.

We also see Mamods on 'Garratt Sunday' & Lady Annes' on 'Darjeeling Day'

A few, but never enough...

Will you be at Pontefract this Saturday James? I may be able to fit you in for a coal firing lesson then...

& remember, that is Garratts spelt Garratts...
