Garden Railway Forum

I have a mate called Keith, who brings his young son to the railway I volunteer at most Sunday's.  Keith told me he had built a 45mm line last year and today I finally visited, mainly to assist Keith in firing his Lady Anne for the first time and give him guidance.  I was frankly amazed when I saw his railway, it is so well made.  Its just an oval with a passing loop but to be honest, it sits in the garden so well its all you need!  

I took three locos, the Ruby, Jamod and the newly repaired and repainted Millie (brace yourselves for that one).  The Ruby had a wobbly and decided it didn't want to steam properly, the Jamod ran fine and the Millie had its first session on rails since I got it.  I was very pleased with how it ran, I seem to have got the timing right thank lord!  :lol:

I was secretly hoping that Keith had bought a Victorian Maroon Lady Anne.  I wasn't disappointed!  Brand new and never steamed since it was bought!



Keith has built a rather nice feature in the form of a viaduct

The Lady Anne with Manx coaches passes through the station.



Then the Millie, which was dubbed for the day "Purple Moose" had a go with happy results.





Ruby and the Jamod got a good run too despite Ruby's protestations.







just for Keiths son we did a double header.  The Lady Anne ran out of gas before Millie, which carried on regardless  :lol:





after a smashing day, all the loco's were lined up, before the Jamod did one last trip with the Manx coaches, something I've wanted to put behind it for ages!

Excellent, that line really does fit in the garden nicely! Lovely viaduct aswell. And as I said on the facebook picture of Millie... " :O "

I thought you said the millie was pruple not pink!

its purple, the sun was out and made it a bit pink like


last night at club when we were boiler testing it somebody did say "oh look, a non standard RH colour!"

That's last year's one my friend, they've just updated this years one the other day.

Ovals are underrated! The MVR much the same (though higher off the ground), but eight years on I still haven't got bored of it...

Trying to get pink added to Roundhouse's standard colours is an interesting idea, but personally I think baby pink would be better than barbie pink

I'd prefer to see purple as a RH colour

I understand Roundhouse are replacing Lady Anne with Lady Gaga with a wide range of accessories she will come in pink as listed.
