First Steam Up after the SLR (North) rebuild

Some pics from this afternoon's steam up with a handful of locals to test out the newly rebuilt part of my railway.

The first steamer was LMSjools' Merlin Hunslet which first stopped at Waterslack.


And then at Eaves Wood.


Crossing over Waterslack road bridge.


laalratty's Millie crosses the River Hever.


Trains can now pass at Eaves Wood with ease.


And North of Waterslack Station.


Kittiwake fools the expectant crowd. Well it is April 1st ! Behind you


Finally, never a steam up goes by without some mishap!

Thanks for having us Midge, the improvement in the SLR north is great, just needs one or two tweeks and it should be set for many years of garden railway-ing pleasure...

The very first train on the new line with Whitbarrow at the new Eaves Wood

David William passes the siding at Waterslack village. The villagers have lost out from the rebuild, the station is now further away!!

Passing trains is now a more relaxed affair, with nice big loops and no overgrowing vegetation
