I am currently fettling an Edrig and thought that some of the improvements may be of interest.
If you have access to a lathe then rather than buy one of those out of character safety valve covers, why not turn down the centre section to do away with that boring look?
Control knobs can be turned down to reveal the brass centre and gas control valve knobs can be changed for a lever.

The control knobs has been done before (but without a lathe), but the SV is sweet!

Yes it is. Also known as ,"The beast of Blackburn." So far I've fitted a RC Bangham whistle and 1/2"diameter presure gauge. I still have to fit rc to the regulator and reverser.
