Mamod/mss wheels Repair or replace

I have had to replace the wheels on two of my SL1 mamods due to them comming loose on the axles and ruining the timing of the quartering.

1, Is there any way of beefing up the connection between the wheels and axle that will prevent loose wheel syndrome?

2, Is there away to reset the loose wheels on the axles so I can reuse them?

1: quartering relates to the orientation of the two drivers on the axle...which have to be at 90 degree separation. The quartering allows one cylinder to be in expansion, providing tractive effort, while the other cylinder is ready to receive steam from the injector

2: loctite  ;)

Quartering on mamods is only about 45 degrees difference 90 would cause it to stall. Have a look at any mamod to see.

All Mamods and MSS have the quartering 90 degrees apart, hence the name. If you have the wheels out it is possible to drill and pin the wheels to the axels.

Whoops you are all right, I was mistaking 45 degrees for 90  

drilling and pining the axles seems to be the way forward
