Merlin gas conversion

Hi Does any know how good the merlin gas tank and burner is for mamods?, I have just brought one on ebay complete with a sl1 and don't know anything about them.

Dont unscrew them all the way, the come out and go bang. Thats all i know as somone on another forum done just that.

Yeah this is the gas controll valve.

No sorry.. I shouldnt think youd need to take it out very far at all given the size of the mamod boiler.

I wouldnt want to go more than a full turn. there are two 'o' rings on the gas regulator shaft, take it past these and...'BOOM'. these go brittle in time and gas leaks back down the reg shaft.

I took my new engine to the local 16mm association meet got it looked over then ran it on the test track for the first time. It runs reallly well and is very controlable
Now I need to leter and name it.

I need to replace the gause on the burner it needs to be 80 mm x35 mm Goes anyone have some ?
