That line looks great, lovely and scenic

its my old line which closed in late 2009. the line was lifted and the track being re used on the sherwood oaks

Looks a smashing little line. What did you learn from it?

1. not to build totally at ground level
2. not to build close to boundaries, especially near a hedge
3. not to have the line in an oval formation with long straight sections
4. to space plastic sleepered track off of the track bed to give a better ballast depth
5. not to build totally flat!
6. incorporate the line into the garden and not treat it as a spreate entity
7. plan for extensions
8. not to put points under a foot bridge
9. more sidings
10. use scale planting from the outset

there is probebly more. i was 10 when i helped build the line and it all started as a test track for my lady anne which i built from a kit

Wow Matt,
That looked like a really nice line. Even with the faults you listed (which I can check off quite a few myself) I bet it was good.
I love the 3rd pic down, the slate lineside with "grass" growing up in the 2ft & cess. Would love mine to look like that.

Also the Countess/Earl pic, is that a Pearse one? Looks different to my Accy version anyway.
