Mr Gorton has just posted this on the 7-8ths site..a pre production Mamod Vertical Boilered loco
Tag I hope I am not stealing your thunder...whats it about??

that certainly looks abit different. lets hope they price it right as the mamod MK2 is very pricey for what it is.

Dunno what scale it is supposed to be. It just seems suitable for 7/8 to me. Mind you Willi looks like that to me as well! This loco has a single piston valve cylinder, oiler, pressure and water gauge. It is internally gas fired with a very quiet ceramic burner. Gauge convertible.

Do you think? Certainly it is far and away better engineered than MSS and a hundred quid cheaper than a similar loco advertised in GR and SMT recently. Not the prettiest thing in the world but would make a controllable and powerful tram locomotive.

Indeed, what is the target price? It is reversible by the looks of it which is better than a max...

i think its the looks tag, the old mamod had the looks that the new one lacks! it looks like it was designed by a 4 year old. you can see it looks like a steam engine but all the dimensions are out. Its a matter of opinion

Now that certainly does look interesting! I even like the design, looks kind of quirky! Will be nice to see this on sale for a cheap price.

oh blimy, thats totally different to the prototype. looks much better now! but still cant touch original mamods.

In all seriousness thats what the person who put that video up paid. Apparently Forest Classics will sell them too. There are detailed photos on the mamod forum.
The best (worst?) thing about are the hornkeeps.
They are O rings! :|

I've seen the pics, the o rings should be easily replaced with a bit of brass strip and holes drilled through with suitable screws and nuts.
At £385 it is a bit high for what you get, but I would like one once they actually start appearing.
