Well at PTLRfest Andy Bell had a few engines and I just couldt resist the moelwyn (have I spelt that right I dont know its welsh flem speak) Unfortuantly it does have a six week waiting list but when I get it Ill geta review up as well as details on how to add weight as it is stupidly light, and I dont want to run across the garden like a girl screaming No No No No No No when it blows of the viaduct.

Have edited it, along with the spelling of "Moelwyn" (which is Bald Hill in English, or a play on words for the loco's builder, Baldwin). I am thinking of getting one of these myself once the finance is in place

[pedant] "Flem" is spelt wrong too. It should be "phlegm". [/pedant]

Sorry, just felt I had to join in there

Well an NWAG member has had delievery of an ANDEL Moelwyn...

...it's just not PTLRcecil who has been waiting several weeks now for his one

Insted after thinking about it for a few weeks, yesterday I took the plunge and at 11.00am I ordered one from Trackshack.
It arrived at 9.00 this morning, for the same price as ordering one from ANDEL and having the wait. Now how is THAT for service!!!

Parked at Afallen after a short test run. Like Simon (PTLRcecil) I also have plans for mods, first of all is some weathering. I also intend at some point to devise a way of fitting a pony truck, this will certainly take some thinking about though!

Awsomes, I wanna see some pics of it with 11 or 11&12!

I wouldn't try fitting a pony truck, but changeing the cab so it's correct for it's FR time and a re-paint to a more suitable shape of green.

I'll try and get out with it tommorow, and both of your suggestions had already crossed my mind, have already tracked down pics in the era that would be best, with diesel engine but pre pony truck.

WOW, they look very tempting! Very fitting for the ANLR. And that video is excellent, needs some period music over the top though to cut the silence.

Went round to laalrattys this morning to see it 'in the flesh' and very nice it is too :D but I think I would definately repaint it to a darker green.

Hi guys

Just looking online before I went to bed. Just wanted a chance to answer a couple of things to clarify the situation.

Track shack have placed several orders for their stock, and I make Moelwyn / Baldwins to order; all built in order of receipt. As such, they order a generic combination. However, I do several colours, including dark green, and will aim to match specific colour requests.

Unfortunately, I had a nasty bout of flu earlier this year, and this affected my existing health conditions and forced me to work shorter hours. then, to top of my first half year, my wife was ill and needed support. I'm working as best I can to get all orders out as soon as possible, and my order back log is decreasing. anyone that's been waiting, I'm sorry for the delay but I'm trying.

Moving on, regarding the specific 0-4-0 combination, I've modelled it in this form as it would look rather long and ungainly, in model form, as the 2-6-0. It would also reduce the rigidity in chassis structure, as the whole structure relies on box structure for strength. Additional weight can be added on the inner plate between the chassis and the body. This can be viewed and handled on the trade stand at various events around the country, as the maroon version I have is weighted.

I hope this answers all, and expolains the delay in building locos.

Got some dark green paint today, and I've got some plasticard to replicate the front sliding windows. Hopefully I might have Moelwyn looking how I would like in time for my holiday to Wales
