The North Furness Railway

Post by Matt » Mon Feb 04, 2008 9:55 pm

Here's a video of my first line made just after it was built. It's mostly a slide show, but there is a clip at the end of my mamod running very fast round the circit.

Enjoy.

Thank you :) . The video shows the line as it was at first, as simple circit. by the time it closed about 15 months after the video was made, it had a 5 yard loop added onto it, a engine shed and steam up area, a siding, and a small station.

Nice video Matt.

Has photobucket hijacked your audio track as all I get is a clicking noise now and then, where you have added the video clips.

Ah, what a shame that line closed. Looked very enjoyable! Hopefully you can build a even better one where you are now!

Yeah, the pics of my new line are in the Introduction section, in 'Hello from Durham, page 5. As for my first line, It only lasted 18 months :(. However, to celebrate it's short life, I invited my garden railway friends in the area round for an open day. About 12 people came (one came all the way from Morcombe!), and brought a lot of engines :D . The largest was an Accucraft superior which, despite being am 0-6-2, mamaged to get round my mamod track!

sounds fun matt! I'll have to have a open day to celebrate the opening of my line (which may be 1/2 done in 1/2 term - Easter to be fully completed).

I don't know anying about the clicking noise CCairns

I tried photobucket last night. Firstly it was on maintenance, and then it worked again some hours later.

The clicking noises occur when there should be some audio. First is when you have a short video of blowing the whistle at about 03:23 & 03:16 to run (no audio), and second is at about 00:34 & 00:23 to run showing your SL1 running.

On another Forum I'm a member of some members have be having problems with photobucket, including a corrupted audio track. I have experienced the same and had to upload my video again for it to work. I also now use their fast video uploader which seems to work better.

Should there be a working audio track with this video?

Graham, as was discussed on the other Forum, photobucket is OK for photos but has big problems with video.

Seems to depend where you log into photobucket from as mine is working good at present. I always allow the video to load first with the buffering, etc and then replay it in full.

baout the audio, the video was made with a digital camera, and I don't think it had a sound recorder with it, so there shouldn't be any sound with the video.

ptlrcecil, is it ok if I load the group photo from my open day onto the forum?

I prefer to use ImageShack for photos, and YouTube for videos, never had much trouble at all with either. Remember that you're likely to have more viewers to videos on YouTube, because there is a large GR community on there.

Thank you for putting the photos up ptlrcecil.  The little boy in pic 2 is my youngest brother, Tom, who also enjoyed himself that day.

Here are some more pics from my open day.

Here's the group photo.  I'm second from the left, whilst ptlrcecil is on my left side.
