Best Loco.
Best Loco.
Ok, here is a question. What do you think is the best live steam garden railway loco that has ever been produced?
From the evidence I've seen, I think the best one is the Roundhouse 'Lady Anne'.

Garden Railways-best hobby in the world.

The best beginners loco ive ever seen is an edrig.
For sheer power the accucraft superior or locobox afrikarn.
There only engines ive seen though there are probably better ones out there.

It's one of those things that is a matter of opinion, depends on what you want realy, are me talking dream loco here, or just value for money.
As far as value for money goes I'd have an 'Edrig', I look at Chris' 'Millie' and think that it looks rather nice, but then I read about what an 'Edrig' has over a 'Millie', yes perhaps it is a fantastic loco coming from a company with exceptional standards, but I prefer money over service.

The number of things that went wrong in me getting caradoc really push me towards roundhouse for any future purchase, their service is so good, plus millie was good straight out of the box and very very good after some running in turns, its a great engine to drive, and I don't mind the slip eccentric valve gear
Ive never had a major problem with accucraft straight out the box but I have heard of wheels melting and twisted frames (Oh no wait thats just the garret)

Well you can now add twisted frames for a caradoc, (it had to go back) then the replacement had the water level check valve not working cos there was no hole in the banjo! The caradoc has also always been very stiff and does not like steep hills and gradients plus the pressure sometimes drops quickly for no reason (well ok It drops because its being used but surely it should be able to sustain pressure?)
