Well Sir Robinhas finally been taken out of service for its mega spectacular repaint where no photos will be taken till its finished. And A polite word to those who know what livery it will be coming out in due to ptlrjan being a nosy bat and blowing the lid off on this new fangled virus ridden facebook thing , please dont say anything or that 10 tons of nitro glycerine ive been saving for qa rainy day will be repurposed. Pics to come when the engine is finished.

Which Southern green do you mean Cecil?

There's Maunsell Light Olive and Dark Olive, and Bulleid's Malachite...

In response to the southern green I mean the dark one. As for what Sir Robin is its an early 0-6-0 meths fired lady anne with a fowler tender as seen on my avatar.

They are all completely different colours, he does raise a good point! Malachite green is particuarly vibrant...

To be fair you did tell me what colour it was to be painted before PTLRJan blew it on Facebook (PTLRJan has been at it again recently as well

) All I'm saying is that it should look stunning, as all preserved locos in this livery look

Well to me it is the best colour in the world but I suppose it is a little out of ordinary. But doesn't that make it special??

I had a look in halfords and they didnt seem to know what GER Blue was.

I had a similar problem with the paint. I asked and they didn't have a clue. I then asked if they could find the color on a data base but they could only work from a ridiculous book full of colour tabs and codes. Mercadeis cobalt blau seemed the closed to me so I bought an arosol of it, the chap mixed it and in front of me said "Oh that looks different to the one in the book" put in in the aroesol and made me pay for it, £12.50! It really was not the right colour at all grrrr. Now I am considering makeing up transefers on a CAD (yay) program and prining thenm off on water slide material, colour, lining, lettering and all!
