Lovely new Observation Coach

Post by mhlr » Mon Sep 14, 2009 11:14 pm

As seen in the back of Garden Rail, IP have launched this lovely new coach based on the Devon Belle coach (as you can ride in on the Paignton line). The MHLR will soon have hands on one, to run as the 'Cornwall Belle' And at 50 'sovs', as Tag would say in his snack bar, it's sure a good buy!

Well, a skimpy railway like mine would just use the new executive carriage and claim for it to be an observation carriage- Or modify an existing on!!!! YAY!

Must admit I was taken with it when I saw the ad in Garden Rail, but even with that fantastic price I'm not sure the ANLR has room for more coaches :(
"What the hell is that?"
"It's a model icebreaker sir."
"It's a bit big isn't it?"
"It's a full scale model sir....."

I'm mildly peed off because I'm building one out of a later VoR bogie brake!

Don't get p%*d off...building your own (kit or DIY) is much more fun

ps.
here is another of my dream stock to be built...a Peter Barnfield creation. I hope he has no objections showing you this...this picture and others are on my Christmas list...I keep leaving details of Titfield Thunderbolt shop around the house

pps. Pete your future purchase looks very nice, just the thing for behind the Fowler you have...until you forget to ease that ski run of a slope

T'was ever so - you spend 20 years with one indistinct photo of the Craig & Mertonford's 0-14-0 loco - you work out what it looks like - you spend 3 years building the model and just as you get it into primer, somebody brings out a kit!

I'm grateful that I only had to wait 20 years for somebody to bring out a reasonably-priced VoR matchboarded bogie coach kit!

oBSERVATION cAR

Post by Crackingjob » Sun Sep 20, 2009 5:31 pm

oBSERVATION cAR........seen the magazine and it looks very good...you will need a large loco and wide curves ...would dominate a little mamod....however it is IP and as ever very good value with wheels etc thrown in for the price.

Crackingjob

(my final dig .... even Roland Emett had something to say on the orginal.....now just to build a green house on wheels to compete with Pete!!)
