How do you attach a micro servo. Can I use glue?

Re: Servo attachment
You can and I have many times, but for replacements sake, it is better to make a bracket and screw it in.

Re: Servo attachment
Either super glue or epoxy does the trick, but if you use too much of either, it's never coming out in one piece. Where is it being fitted and to what surfaces?

Re: Servo attachment
in the bottom metal box in a ragleth for the throttle. It has one where there but whatever glue has failed as has the servo. I'm waiting for a new micro servo to replace it.

Re: Servo attachment
I found for that purpose use a "wing" servo and drill 2 holes and screw it in. Far easier to fit and replace. There are many different types and pricesSir Clothem Cap wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 12:59 pm in the bottom metal box in a ragleth for the throttle. Re: Servo attachment
If you must glue it, then use epoxy after thoroughly cleaning the chassis and servo with something like isopropanol.Sir Clothem Cap wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 12:59 pm in the bottom metal box in a ragleth for the throttle. From the description of "wing servo" I can only surmise that it is designed to fit into wings hence being so thin.

Re: Servo attachment
Yup, designed for plane wings to sit flush underneath the wing in a small cutout. I used these in many foam planes and they were glued in as screws don't take to foam that wellGAP wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 9:14 pmLearn something new everyday, I never knew that this type ever existed.-steves- wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 1:02 pmI found for that purpose use a "wing" servo and drill 2 holes and screw it in.
