I jave recently purchaced this 3d printed battery loco from rails of sheffield and have managed to get it running with some plug and play radio gear that i had, however i have no idea what this loco is or who made it if it is scratch built.
If any one knows anything about it i would apreciate it if you could tell me the backstory of its name!
Unknown loco
Re: Unknown locoo
I believe it to be an AnDel Models loco. They used to manufacture an O&K style loco with chain drive for 4wD, but when the chain became too expensive they swapped to a more freelance design of loco with the outside cranks and rods. Andy (who ran AnDel) went on to do various designs like the 0-6-0 one here. Sadly AnDel stopped trading around ten years ago or so. They were constructed from Resin castings, later using some 3D printed parts also.
Thanks

Re: Unknown loco
Thanks for telling me what it is.
It must be one of the later ones because it has not got any chains.
It has also been having some traction isues so i will probably end up putting chains on it anyway because the connecting rods are rubbing so it won't move.

Re: Unknown loco
Cute little thing, that! The flycranks really give it more character - then again, a loco that works is better still.
