When I load my car to take models to a show I need to cross a stream to access my railway shed....

This rickety old bridge has seen better days and is now well past its best!
At the end of July, with few shows to attend for a while, it was decided to start fresh and build a new bridge. My elder son and I set about removing the old and installing a new and improved bridge. I have shown pictures in the past of the way the stream can turn into a raging torrent, and with the warnings of wetter weather in the future I thought it time to prepare for the worst. Today the bridge was completed and it looks great....

This is a monster in comparison, measuring 8'6" wide and gobbling up several tons of concrete and steel.

As today is our 52nd wedding anniversary I thought it appropriate to give the bridge a name in recognition of my lovely wife, Diane, so the bridge will be called... 'The Bridge of Thighs' .... Naturally, she is not aware of this as she is currently in Austria, so I live in relative safety until her return.
