Andel wagons

Hi, I have been working through my box of kits that need to be bought into use and I’ve got to 3 of what I think are Andel Models WD class D bogie wagons. I’ve layed apart the bits but only get so far when trying to work out where each part goes. Most of the larger parts are fairly obvious but i always end up with a pile of bits I can’t find a home for.
Does anyone have any old instructions or a photo or two that might help?
Here is a photo of my work bench to help confirm I have old Andel Models.
Thanks for reading this and hopefully someone can help.

I want to complete them as rolling stock for The Crowfoot Light Railway.

Hi Andy,

It probably won't be until the weekend, but I'll take some photos of mine - I scratch built the bodies from ply, but the bogies and strapping are Andel, so that should help, I hope?

There are (or used to be) some good drawings of WDLR stock by Peter Foley freely available online, which might also help. I'll look for those later too, if you don't dig them out first, I'm supposed to be making dinner now though...

Cheers,
Andrew

Andy, I think your offer of photos to help with the bogies and strapping will be a massive help but don’t get into trouble and be late with your cooking duties.

Chat soon.
Andy

Thanks Gerald and Andy for your help but I’ve found the instructions that were safely stowed with the wrong kit. I have a couple of spares so if anyone wants one, let me know.
The information was very useful though I have found some small parts are missing but they should be simple to scratch build. Once more thanks for help.

Glad you're all sorted, enjoy the build!

I shall cross "crawl around under the house looking for WD wagons" off this weekend's to do list!

All the best,
Andrew

NEARLY DONE.
I’ve still got to finish off weathering dirt and a little rust together with some bespoke decals and a final matt varnishing. This is probably the condition these wagons will be in for some time to come so I thought it would be best to show them and thank all for help.

Better than just 'good' I'd say Andy. The strapping and detailing really stand out and set them apart. What a shame they are no longer available.

The strapping was painted and dry brushed before applying it to the painted wagon bodies, and it was this possibility that led me to the Andel version of this model.
I also bought some Wrightlines WD bogies with a pie in the sky plan to use them but they will be so detailed that I feel to cover them up with a wagon is a shame and these will now likely to be wagon loads purporting to be reconditioned externally (at lost and bodge e.g.) and returned to the CLR for use.
Thanks for all help and comments.

Nice set!

Wait a minute, that sounded dirty..

Seriously though, great work. The brown quite suits the type D, too. :salute:

I like those! The unpainted interiors are nice, and the way the weathering picks out the strapping detail...

Has your purple diesel generated as much controversy as the Severn Valley's "West Country"??!

There is a bit of a story related to the purple colour of the diesel. I ordered it a few years ago at the W+LLR steam weekend from GRS but the guy setting them up with radio control insisted I pay up front if I wanted purple, which was a requirement of my granddaughter GRACE.
I has a very child friendly control system, even I can operate it and it is probably the most used of my locos.
GRACE is now awaiting a Roundhouse Merseysider but in olive green!!!

Apart from that I’m a bit of a Royalist but don’t like the colour on the full size loco or the HORNBY OO version.
