Good to hear from you, Mitch. I like the way one of your reasons we haven't heard from you is "having a car ...." I can somehow see how owning a car can be time consuming ... Certainly my first couple of cars proved to be very time consuming as I must have spent more time repairing them than driving them .....

Nice engines, those Porters.

Hey all. been a good few months since ive updated .
The trackwork in the cutting is being reworked as the foundations are being relaid.
I have gotten my Bachmann Porter Converted to Battery Power by a friend of mine.
Ive also aquired a bachmann lyn 2-4-2 (Newer Version) which will be converted to battery next year.

Good to hear from you Mitch. The newer Lyn is far better than the original version which was under-powered. The new one also includes a chuff cam as standard which is a useful feature if you intend using a soundcard.

Hey All, Apollogies for being so long between postings, a fair bit has been happening on the line as of late.

#1 a Accucraft Mabel has ordered and is due for delivery very soon, will be manually controlled and a 0-6-0, gotta work out a name for it now ;)

#2 the track has seen some improvements and the biggest work will be commencing shortly with the releveling of the trestle bridge.

#3 Two Battery Powered Locos have Joined the fleet, a Bachmann Porter that i have mentioned in the past has been converted to battery around 12 months ago, and a Bachmann Lyn 2-4-2 (newer Run) has also been converted.

Will post more shortly once mabel and the bridge are completed.

Happy Steaming ,

The SP car is a scratch built unit with a mix of marine steam products adapted to conventional rail use. it’s a mighty fine machine and runs superbly well.

I wanted to know if you had a thread about it on the forum, or something else on the internet somewhere. It looks very interesting, and impressive! :thumbright: :thumbright:

Unfortunately no thread on this forum at all to my knowledge, it belongs to a friend of mine and I believe he is planning to put one up at some point.

A great set of photos Mitch. Your railway is maturing nicely. I can't recall seeing the trestle before, but my little grey cells might be deceiving me.

Happy 21st BTW

Hi Mitch
Just found photos of the trestle in a July 2018 post. Clearly the grey cells aren't what they were......

Some really interesting equipment getting an outing there. The SP car is a stunner. Is that a roundhouse Sammy lurking near the shed?

I had to do a search on the thermo electric tram and read about its story, it just looked so weird and awesome. I really love the outside-the-box thinking that went into it. (Link for the curious: https://www.gscalecentral.net/threads/t ... am.307351/)

There's been a thread about it on here too, a while back now though. It's fun as a sort of science project technology demonstrator, but a practical mode of traction it is not. It doesn't even run on my line at home since it is way too underpowered for the 1:18 grades. We accidentally set it on fire later that day, though I'm sure it will be back in service at some stage. It is also banned from running number 1 end leading on account of the risk that the driver's trousers will catch on fire.
