Slow progress, sorry but bridges are popular so been a lot of riveting going on. I did manage to press a chassis out from the kit and was surprised when an lgb tipper body and my resin supports fitted almost perfectly. Do I, don't I? I will try and build a body first and see how that goes. They are slightly wider than lgb so would add some variation to my tipper fleet.

Not sure whether my title bond is bonding that well. The jig was a pig to glue but we're there now and will attempt a styrene wrap tomorrow.

Unlike Tom I've gone for a single build at a time. The body of the tipper was formed from 2 layers of .25mm styrene. Being thin it buckled and bowed giving a very unrigid bucket. I half expected this and lined the lip with piece of evergreen section. Trimmed up it didn't turn out too badly. I'd run a squirt of superglue around the inside edge to give a bit of strength. On adding the brackets decided to hide the fixing holes with acrylic discs. I have decide that if I trim the inside of the tipper supports the bucket won't rock whilst being moved. The bucket has been sprayed with high build primer.
In view of the problems I had with the pva I have used superglue for all wood joints.

Super glue is great until you become allergic to it. I've used it for model building for many years but can't go near it now. Just opening the bottle makes my eyes water and my nose run.

Looks good. You would not think the skip sides were made of wood.

Waiting for loctite for the wheels, I paid for some metal wheels as I have little luck with Binnie type wheels plus they give some weight. Wondering if I could add a layer between the two chassis frames to give a girder effect.

Love the way you guys do your builds and so much information, learning a lot on this forum.

Have added some plasticard to the body top and sides to give a more steel effect (hopefully). I have also added some axlebox covers and a few rivets here and there to give a bit of texture. The ends have received a coat of white for number panels so the next stage is to mask and then spray dark grey. The loctite has arrived but need to make a jig to ensure the back to back is central or my axleboxes will be poked out!

You're on sm32 so I would suggest somewhere like Brandbright. If you are building Binnie tippers then Roy Wood does small metal wheelers for 32mm. Don't fall for O gauge wheels which are the same track gauge but will be very fine.

It may pay to put a request on "help me" because I have never bought sm32 wheels.

Not quite finished but getting close. Still need to glue the axlebox frames in and weather them to match the chassis. I feel the next build may use the chassis to build the general purpose wagon I've wanted to do for ages...

Love these, brilliant work on them.

I will probably stop here on build one. Too damp to run but propels through lgb r3 points with no problems. The weight is 160 gm v 185 gm of my resin builds and quite surprised at that, and pleased. There is a bit of wobble with the tipper body being loose fitted but a little weight in the bottom cures that.

Now for number 2...or 23 as it will be in the fleet.

Build 2 is going to be a wagon I've been hankering to do for a while. Bulkhead ends and removable side planks depending on the load. Added some end rods to the tipper supports from 2.4mm rivets dipped in blackening liquid. A fiddle to do and need to fill in around the tipper supports where my drilling got a little enthusiastic.
